College Essay Coaching

  These essays are the applicant's opportunity to show who they are beyond the transcripts, activities, and exam scores. It is their opportunity to make a case that they are, without a doubt, a right-fit addition to a given college or university. An effective essay will make the admissions committee feel as if they have just met the applicant, have a strong sense of their character, and understand how they would not only be a positive addition to the school's student body but also that they are more than prepared to succeed as a college student.

• I start working with applicants in May of their junior year. We kick off with an in-person meeting with the parent(s), applicant, and me wherein we discuss the process, ensure all parties want to move forward, and schedule sessions 
• Sessions start once the school year ends. Coach and student meet virtually for an hour via zoom every 1-2 weeks throughout the summer (schedule customized to meet student’s unique timeline and availability)
• Sessions progress the student through the entire writing process— all the way from reviewing and selecting essay prompts, to brainstorming content, to writing, revising, and fine-line editing

• A qualified, neutral, and confidential partner to support and encourage them to complete this process independently 
• Accountability and clear goals to complete between sessions
• Individualized, customized, and expert writing coaching support 
• Professional editing
